VERB GRAMMAR MADE EASY

Learn all types of verbs in a simple and easy way with examples.


1. WEAK VERBS

Weak verbs form past tense by adding -ed.

Examples:
Walk → Walked
Play → Played
Love → Loved

2. STRONG VERBS

Strong verbs change their form completely in past tense.

Examples:
Go → Went → Gone
Eat → Ate → Eaten
See → Saw → Seen

3. FINITE VERBS

Finite verbs change according to tense and subject.

Examples:
She plays cricket.
They played football.

4. INFINITIVE VERBS

Infinitive verbs use "to + base verb".

Examples:
To eat
To run
To study

5. TRANSITIVE VERBS

These verbs need an object.

Examples:
She reads a book.
He kicked the ball.

6. INTRANSITIVE VERBS

These verbs do not need an object.

Examples:
He runs fast.
The baby cries.

7. AUXILIARY / SPECIAL VERBS

Helping verbs that support the main verb.

Primary Auxiliaries:
Be (is, am, are, was, were)
Have (has, have, had)
Do (do, does, did)

Modal Verbs:
Can, Could, May, Might, Must, Shall, Should, Will, Would

Examples:
She is reading.
They have finished work.
He can swim.
